Great Ocean Road Ultimate Attractions Guide

Over the last 8 years of running Good Times Tours I’ve been lucky enough to experience most of the attractions & activities along the Great Ocean Road and Great Ocean Walk hiking trail that runs from Apollo Bay to the 12 Apostles.

With this page, I wanted to provide a visual storyboard so guests can see what’s on offer along one of the world’s best coastal roads.

Great Ocean Walk Tours - Parker Inlet Hike
Parker Inlet – A hiker’s delight on the Great Ocean Walk but has a campground that’s accessible by car for those wanting a more remote camping experience.

Mobs of Kangaroos can often be seen in the farmland on the road to Cape Otway Lightstation particularly in the morning and late evening.

Castle Cove Lookout
Castle Cove Lookout – Where the Great Ocean Walk meets the Great Ocean Road for the only time along it’s 100km trail.

Castle Cove Beach – I highly recommend to everyone stopping at Castle Cove to walk down to this heavenly beach which is often empty.

The Gables Lookout on the Great Ocean Walk is accessible by car.
The Gables lookout – Offers incredible coastal views and is a great spot for those looking to escape the crowds. Please note 2wd vehicles will need to be careful on Moonlight Head Road.
Wreck Beach on the Great Ocean Walk.
Wreck Beach – You’ll need to descend 350 steps from the carpark to the beach but the aptly named Wreck Beach is home to the anchors of the Marie Gabrielle (400m west of the steps) and the Fiji (650m west of the steps). Please note 2wd vehicles will need to be careful on Moonlight Head Road.
